Tata Sierra crosses 10,000 deliveries soon after launch in India

Tata Motors has announced that the newly launched Tata Sierra has crossed the 10,000 delivery milestone across India. The figure comes soon after the SUV’s market introduction and reflects early customer interest in the revived nameplate.

The Sierra represents the return of one of Tata’s most recognisable SUVs, bringing back a model that originally gained popularity in the Indian market during the 1990s. The latest version blends design cues from the earlier generation with contemporary styling and updated technology.

In terms of exterior design, the new Sierra adopts the company’s latest design language while incorporating visual elements inspired by the original model. The SUV features a prominent front-end design with a full-width LED light bar and a muscular stance. One of the most distinctive styling touches is the wraparound rear quarter glass, a signature element carried over as a tribute to the classic Sierra.

Inside the cabin, the SUV offers a modern interior layout with a triple-screen dashboard setup. Other features include wireless smartphone connectivity, a panoramic glass roof and a range of convenience-focused equipment. Safety has also been prioritised, with the vehicle equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Under the hood, the Sierra is offered with three different 1.5-litre engine options. Buyers can choose between a naturally aspirated petrol unit, a turbocharged petrol engine and a diesel option. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available across the lineup depending on the variant.

The SUV is positioned in the competitive midsize SUV segment and is currently priced from Rs. 11.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). With bookings continuing through dealerships nationwide, Tata Motors expects deliveries to increase further in the coming months.
